Why we exist

The Indian wedding market is enormous and almost entirely unstructured. Pricing is opaque, availability is unknowable without a phone call, and quality signals are word of mouth. A family in Ranchi has no practical way to compare four photographers on anything other than whose portfolio looks better on a phone screen.

Vendors have the mirror-image problem. A talented mehndi artist working alone cannot afford marketing, so she is invisible to everyone outside her referral network — while spending her mornings on enquiries from people who never checked her rates.

WeddersKart puts price, portfolio, availability and verified reviews in one place, and routes qualified enquiries to vendors who match. Couples get comparison. Vendors get demand they can actually convert. Both sides get their time back.

How we operate

Four things we hold to

Marketplaces drift toward whoever pays most. These are the constraints we put on ourselves to keep that from happening.

  • The price you see is the price they charge

    We audit vendor pricing against what they quote directly. If a vendor lists a higher price here than they would offer you off-platform, they lose their listing. You never pay a platform markup.

  • Verified means we actually checked

    A Verified badge means our team confirmed the business registration, checked the portfolio belongs to them, and validated the contact details. It is not a quality rating — that is what the reviews are for.

  • Your number is not a commodity

    One enquiry reaches at most five matching vendors, never the whole category. We do not sell contact data, and vendors who ignore an opt-out lose access to leads.

  • We are paid by vendors, and we say so

    Featured placements are labelled as placements, not rankings. Vendor subscriptions and lead fees fund the platform, which is why it stays free for couples. We would rather be clear about that than pretend to be neutral.

How we make money

Being unclear about this is how marketplaces lose trust, so plainly: vendors pay us, couples never do. Vendors subscribe for monthly plans (free, ₹2,000 or ₹5,000), buy lead credits, and pay for Featured placement in specific cities and categories. On high-value categories — venues, decor, catering and planning — we take a 2–5% commission on confirmed bookings, paid by the vendor out of their existing price, not added to yours.

What we do not do: sell your contact details, accept payment to manipulate review scores, or hide that a Featured listing is a paid placement. Every Featured card on this site carries a label saying exactly that.
