Frequently Asked Questions
How the platform works, what things cost, and what we do with your number. If something is not covered here, ask us directly.
Using WeddersKart
Yes. Searching vendors, comparing prices, reading reviews and requesting quotes is completely free for couples and families. We are paid by vendors through subscriptions and lead fees, never by you.
Use the "Get Quote" button on any vendor card or profile. Tell us your date, city and budget once, and we route it to matching vendors. Most respond within 24 hours; Featured vendors typically respond within 2 hours.
A Verified vendor has had their business registration, portfolio ownership and contact details checked by our team. It confirms the business is real and the work shown is theirs — it is not a guarantee of quality, which is what the reviews are for.
Reviews can only be submitted by users who sent an enquiry through WeddersKart, and each one is tied to a verified phone number. Vendors can reply to reviews but cannot delete them. We remove reviews only for abuse or personal information, never for being negative.
Your enquiry goes to a maximum of five matching vendors, never the whole category. You can stop further contact from your enquiry page at any time, and vendors who ignore that lose their access to leads.
You pay nothing extra. For high-value categories like venues and decor we charge the vendor a 2–5% commission on confirmed bookings. Vendor pricing on the platform is the same price they would quote you directly — we audit this.
We currently operate across 40+ Indian cities with deep vendor supply in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Jaipur, and growing coverage in Ranchi, Patna, Bhubaneswar and Lucknow.
Create a free vendor account, add your portfolio, services and pricing, and submit for verification. The Basic plan is free forever and includes five leads a month. Most vendors are live within 48 hours of submitting verification documents.
Bridal Makeup Artists
Browse makeup →Bridal makeup in your city typically runs ₹8,000–₹25,000 for a single function with an established artist, and ₹35,000–₹1,50,000 for celebrity or highly in-demand artists covering multiple functions. HD and airbrush packages sit at the higher end. Family and guest makeup is usually charged separately at ₹1,500–₹3,000 per person.
Book 4–6 months ahead for a peak-season date (November to February in your city), and 2–3 months ahead otherwise. The best artists take one bride per day, so popular muhurtham dates go first. Always block the date with a written advance receipt.
Yes, and do it 3–4 weeks before the wedding rather than the week of. A trial lets you check how the base sits on your skin, how it photographs under flash, and whether the artist listens to feedback. Most artists in your city charge ₹2,000–₹5,000 for a trial, often adjusted against the final bill.
Wedding Photographers
Browse photography →In your city, expect ₹40,000–₹80,000 for single-day candid coverage with a small team, ₹1,00,000–₹2,50,000 for multi-day coverage with a cinematic film, and ₹3,00,000+ for the most in-demand studios. Album printing, drone coverage and pre-wedding shoots are usually quoted as add-ons.
Traditional coverage produces the posed portraits and ritual shots your family will expect in the album. Candid coverage documents unposed moments as they happen. Most couples in your city book both — a traditional photographer for the ceremony and a candid team working alongside them.
A typical single-day wedding yields 600–1,200 edited photographs. Reasonable delivery is 4–8 weeks for photos and 8–12 weeks for a cinematic film. Get the number of edited images and the delivery timeline written into the contract — this is the single most common source of post-wedding disputes.
Wedding Venues
Browse venues →Banquet halls in your city start around ₹80,000–₹2,00,000 for a half-day rental, while hotels and resorts run ₹3,00,000–₹15,00,000 depending on guest count and inclusions. Many venues quote per plate instead of rental — typically ₹700–₹2,500 for vegetarian menus — with the hall included above a minimum guarantee.
Visit at the same time of day as your function. Check the air conditioning under load, actual parking capacity, generator backup, the size of the stage area your decorator will work with, and whether outside caterers and decorators are permitted or charged a royalty. Get the cancellation and postponement terms in writing.
It varies. Many your city venues have exclusive in-house catering, some allow outside vendors on payment of a royalty fee (₹200–₹500 per plate is common), and a few are fully open. This one clause can swing your total budget significantly, so clarify it before paying an advance.
Decorators
Browse decor →Mandap-only decor in your city typically runs ₹40,000–₹1,20,000. Mandap plus stage and entrance sits at ₹1,50,000–₹4,00,000. Full venue transformation with imported flowers and custom fabrication starts around ₹5,00,000 and has no real ceiling. Fresh flower choice is the single biggest cost variable.
Concentrate spend where guests and cameras linger: the mandap, the stage backdrop and the entrance. Use seasonal local flowers rather than imported ones, choose fabric and lighting over dense floral fill for large areas, and reuse the mehndi setup elements for the following day where the venue allows.
Most setups begin the night before or from 2–4 AM on the day, depending on when the venue releases the hall. Confirm the venue’s access time in writing and make sure your decorator has it too — a late hall handover is the usual reason decor is unfinished when guests arrive.
Caterers
Browse catering →In your city, a standard vegetarian wedding menu runs ₹550–₹900 per plate, premium multi-cuisine with live counters ₹1,000–₹1,800, and luxury or five-star catering ₹2,000–₹4,500. Non-vegetarian menus typically add ₹150–₹400 per plate. Service staff and equipment are sometimes billed separately — always ask.
A well-balanced wedding buffet has 2 starters, 3–4 main course dishes, 2 breads, rice, dal, salads, 2 desserts and a live counter. Beyond that, guests sample rather than eat and wastage rises sharply. More dishes is the most common way families overspend without improving the experience.
Caterers generally prepare for 100% of the confirmed count, but actual attendance at Indian weddings averages 75–85% of invites. Work from a realistic RSVP number, not the invite list, and agree a buffer percentage in writing rather than letting the caterer decide on the day.
Wedding Planners
Browse planners →Day-of coordination in your city runs ₹75,000–₹1,50,000. Partial planning is ₹1,50,000–₹4,00,000. Full-service planning is typically 8–12% of your total wedding budget, or a flat ₹5,00,000+ for larger weddings. Destination weddings are quoted separately because guest logistics dominate the work.
For weddings above roughly ₹25 lakh, or any wedding where the families are in different cities, planners usually pay for themselves through vendor negotiation and avoided mistakes. Below that, day-of coordination alone often delivers most of the value at a fraction of the fee.
Full planning starts at budget-setting and covers vendor selection, contracts, design and execution over several months. Day-of coordination begins 2–4 weeks out: the planner takes over your existing bookings, builds the run sheet and manages the actual days so your family does not have to.
DJs & Music
Browse dj & music →A DJ with a basic sound setup in your city costs ₹15,000–₹35,000 per night. A full package with line-array sound, dance-floor lighting and a wireless mic setup runs ₹50,000–₹1,20,000. Live bands start around ₹80,000, and a dhol team for the baraat is typically ₹8,000–₹25,000.
Confirm exactly what arrives: the console, speaker count and wattage, subwoofers, dance-floor lighting, a wireless mic for speeches, a technician on site for the duration, and setup and teardown time. Sound and lighting are often quoted separately from the DJ fee — a low DJ quote with expensive add-ons is common.
Yes, and you should — both a must-play list and a do-not-play list. Send them 2–3 weeks ahead. A good DJ will follow your list for the key moments and read the floor for everything else, which is worth more than a rigid setlist.
Mehndi Artists
Browse mehndi →Bridal mehndi in your city typically costs ₹6,000–₹20,000 for full hands and feet with an established artist, and ₹25,000–₹60,000 for the most sought-after artists or intricate portrait work. Guest mehndi is usually charged per hand (₹200–₹800) or by the hour for a team.
Full bridal hands and feet take 4–7 hours depending on the density of the design. Book the mehndi function at least two days before the wedding so the stain has time to darken and you are not sitting still on the eve of the ceremony.
Leave the paste on for at least 6–8 hours, avoid water for the first 24 hours, and apply a little mustard oil or clove heat after scraping it off. The stain peaks around 48 hours after application. Natural henna cannot be forced darker — anything that stains black within an hour contains chemical additives.
