Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of WeddersKart. The most important thing to understand is what we are: an introduction platform. We connect couples with vendors — we do not supply wedding services ourselves and we are not a party to the contract you sign with a vendor.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By using WeddersKart you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you use the platform on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. What WeddersKart is — and is not

WeddersKart is an intermediary as defined in Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We host listings created by vendors and pass enquiries between couples and vendors.

We are not a wedding planner, agent, or supplier. When you book a vendor, the contract is between you and that vendor. We are not a party to it, we do not guarantee performance under it, and we do not hold your booking payments.

  • We verify that a listed business exists and that its portfolio belongs to it. We do not certify quality of work.
  • We publish prices as supplied by vendors and audit them against direct quotes. We do not set or control vendor pricing.
  • We do not take a fee from couples, at any point, for any reason.

3. Your obligations as a couple or family

Submitting an enquiry means you consent to your name, number, wedding date, city, budget band and message being shared with up to five matching vendors so they can contact you. You can stop further contact at any time.

  • Provide accurate contact details. Enquiries with false numbers waste vendors’ paid credits and may be removed.
  • Use the platform to plan a genuine wedding, not to harvest vendor contact details or prices for a competing service.
  • Deal with vendors in good faith. Agree scope and price in writing before paying any advance.
  • Do not submit abusive, defamatory or unlawful content in enquiries or reviews.

4. Your obligations as a vendor

Listing a business on WeddersKart is also subject to the Vendor Agreement, which prevails over these terms where they conflict. In summary, you must:

  • Provide accurate business details and submit to verification
  • Upload only work you produced, and hold the rights to publish it
  • List prices you would genuinely quote a customer contacting you directly — inflating platform prices is grounds for removal
  • Respond to leads you have been charged for, or mark them closed
  • Honour bookings you accept, and settle disputes with the customer in good faith
  • Never contact a customer for any purpose beyond the enquiry they submitted

5. Payments and fees

5.1 Couples

The platform is free. We never charge couples a search fee, booking fee or commission. Amounts you pay a vendor are paid directly to that vendor on their terms.

5.2 Vendors

Vendors pay for subscriptions, lead credits and featured placements. All prices are in Indian Rupees and exclusive of GST unless stated. Payments are processed by Razorpay.

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period already paid for. On expiry the account reverts to the free tier and retains its profile, reviews and portfolio.

For venues, decor, catering and planning we charge a commission of 2–5% on confirmed bookings, payable by the vendor out of their existing price. It is never added to what the customer pays.

6. Content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of content you upload. By uploading it you grant WeddersKart a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, resize and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. This licence ends when you delete the content, save for copies in backups and any legally required retention.

The WeddersKart name, logo, design and software are ours. Scraping, copying our listings or database, or reproducing the platform in whole or in part is not permitted.

6.1 Reporting infringing content

If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, write to hello@wedderskart.com with details of the work, the URL, and a statement of your rights. As an intermediary we act on valid notices under Rule 3(2)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021, generally within 36 hours.

7. Reviews

  • Only users who submitted an enquiry through WeddersKart can review the vendor it went to
  • Vendors may reply publicly but cannot delete or edit a review
  • We remove reviews only for abuse, personal information, or where they are demonstrably not from a real customer — never for being negative
  • Paying us does not affect a vendor’s reviews or rating in any way

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that: because we are an introduction platform and not a supplier, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, quality of work, delays, cancellations or insolvency of any vendor. Your remedy in those cases is against the vendor.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that a vendor will respond, or that a vendor will be available on your date.

Where we are found liable to a couple, our aggregate liability is limited to ₹10,000. Where we are found liable to a vendor, it is limited to the fees that vendor paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms, submits fraudulent information, abuses another user, or attempts to circumvent platform fees. Where the breach is capable of remedy we will normally give notice and an opportunity to fix it first.

You may close your account at any time from your dashboard, or by writing to us. Closure does not refund fees already paid except as set out in the Refund Policy.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bangalore, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to the paragraph below.

If you are a consumer, nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including your right to approach the District, State or National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission having jurisdiction where you reside.

Before starting proceedings, please raise the issue with us at hello@wedderskart.com. Most disputes we see are resolved at that stage, and it is considerably faster than the alternative for everyone involved.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified on this page and, for vendors, by SMS or email at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
