Vendor Agreement

This agreement governs your listing on WeddersKart. It exists mainly to protect the thing that makes the platform worth paying for: couples trusting that the vendors here are real, that the prices are honest, and that someone will actually reply.

Last updated:

1. Listing and verification

By submitting a listing you confirm the business exists, you are authorised to represent it, and every detail you provide is accurate.

  • We verify business identity, portfolio ownership and contact details before a listing goes live
  • Verification usually completes within 48 hours of documents being submitted
  • We may reject a listing and will tell you specifically why, so you can fix it and resubmit
  • There is no limit on resubmissions and no penalty for a rejection

2. Portfolio and content standards

Your portfolio is the primary thing couples judge you on, so we are strict about it. Passing off another vendor’s work as your own is the single fastest way to lose your listing.

  • Upload only work you produced, or work you have written permission to display
  • Do not use stock photography to represent your own portfolio
  • Do not upload images containing another vendor’s watermark or branding
  • Obtain consent before publishing identifiable images of couples where required
  • Keep the portfolio current — work more than five years old should be labelled as such

2.1 If a rights complaint is made

On receiving a valid complaint we may remove the specific content while we investigate, generally within 36 hours as required under the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021. We will tell you what was removed and why, and restore it if the complaint is unfounded.

3. Pricing honesty

The price you publish must be a price you would genuinely quote a customer who contacted you directly. Listing an inflated price on the platform, so that the customer appears to get a discount by going around us, is a breach of this agreement.

We audit published prices against direct quotes. Vendors found inflating platform prices are delisted without refund.

  • Publish a starting price you will honour, not a headline number
  • State clearly what is excluded — travel, accommodation, taxes, add-ons
  • Update your pricing when it changes; stale pricing generates leads that waste both parties’ time

4. Lead acceptance and response

Leads are the product you are paying for, and the platform only works if they get answered. A lead delivered to five vendors where none replies is worse for the couple than no platform at all.

  • Respond to every lead you are charged for, even if only to decline it
  • Target a first response within 2 hours during business hours — vendors who do convert roughly twice as well
  • Mark leads as responded, booked or lost, so your response time and conversion figures are accurate
  • Report the booking value when you mark a lead as booked; this drives commission on applicable categories

4.1 Lead usage restrictions

Contact details in a lead may be used only to respond to that specific enquiry. You may not:

  • Add the customer to a marketing list, newsletter or broadcast group
  • Pass their details to another vendor, agency or data broker
  • Contact them again after they ask you to stop
  • Use the details for any purpose unrelated to their enquiry

4.2 When leads are refunded

Invalid numbers, duplicates, mis-routed categories and spam are credited back automatically. See the Refund Policy for the full list and the dispute process.

5. Service quality

A pattern of cancellations, no-shows or unresolved complaints is grounds for suspension regardless of your subscription tier. Paying us more does not buy tolerance for letting couples down.

  • Honour bookings you accept, on the terms you agreed in writing
  • Give reasonable notice if you genuinely cannot fulfil a booking, and help the customer find an alternative
  • Do not demand payment terms materially different from those you published
  • Resolve disputes with customers in good faith and without involving us in the first instance

6. Reviews

  • Reviews can only be submitted by customers who enquired through WeddersKart
  • You may reply publicly to any review; you cannot edit or delete one
  • Do not offer discounts, gifts or refunds in exchange for a review, positive or otherwise
  • Do not post reviews of your own business or a competitor’s
  • We remove reviews only for abuse, personal data or demonstrable fabrication — never for being critical

7. Payment obligations

Subscription fees are charged monthly in advance. Lead credits are charged at purchase. Featured placements are charged for the placement period.

For venues, decor, catering and planning, a commission of 2–5% applies to confirmed bookings originating from a platform lead. It is payable by you out of your existing price and must never be added to the customer’s bill.

If a payment fails we allow a 3-day grace period before the plan downgrades to free. Your profile, reviews and portfolio are retained throughout.

8. Grounds for suspension or removal

We suspend accounts for the following. Where a breach is capable of remedy we normally give notice and a chance to fix it first; the items marked immediate are exceptions, because the harm is done as soon as it happens.

  • Using another vendor’s portfolio work — immediate
  • Misusing customer contact details — immediate
  • Fraudulent business details or verification documents — immediate
  • Inflating platform prices relative to direct quotes
  • Repeatedly failing to respond to charged leads
  • A pattern of cancellations or unresolved customer complaints
  • Attempting to bypass commission on applicable categories
  • Review manipulation, in either direction
  • Abusive conduct toward customers or our staff

9. Term and termination

This agreement runs for as long as your listing is active. You may close your listing at any time from your dashboard; fees already paid are refundable only as set out in the Refund Policy.

On termination your public profile is removed. We retain lead and payment records for the periods stated in the Privacy Policy, for tax and dispute-resolution purposes.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka. Disputes should first be raised at hello@wedderskart.com — in our experience almost all of them are resolved there, and considerably faster.
